Key Stage 1 Sports Day

Vision Statement for PE & Sport at Crest

Our high quality P.E. and sports provision will contribute to the development of the whole child. Participation in carefully planned PE & sporting activities will ensure that, whilst developing physical skills, our children will also learn key life skills and values such as resilience, collegiality and respect.

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

 

Our overview plans for 2019 – 2020

Amount of Funding to be received for 2019/20: £17,750

  • Continue to subscribe to the Greenacre Sports Partnership to improve the quality of PE teaching and learning; enhance the facilities we can offer in school; secure high quality mentoring for staff and CPD for the subject leader
  • Upload the recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer guidelines that primary school children undertake at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day in school
  • Work with parents and agencies to support the Chief Medical Officers recommendation that 3-4 year olds participate in 3 hours of physical activity each day
  • Link the raised awareness of well-being and P.E
  • Continue to ensure pupil voice is collected in relation to PE and sport in school (including clubs)
  • Embed changes to planning in EYFS
  • Hold specific skills days e.g. scooter skills; bikeability
  • Increase participation in local sporting competitions; e.g. tri-golf, gymnastics and athletic inter-school competitions
  • Embed our whole school ethos around character education to improve self-esteem, confidence, independence and resilience
